Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Who we are
Celtics Crew (celticscrew.com) is an independent Boston Celtics publication operated by Owner ("we," "us"). Owner is the controller of personal information collected through the Site. Contact us about privacy at contact@celticscrew.com.
This policy covers celticscrew.com, our feeds and our social media presence. It does not cover third-party sites we link to or embed.
2. Information we collect
Information collected automatically. When you visit, our hosting provider and analytics tool receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time of each request. We use it to deliver the Site, keep it secure, and understand which content is useful. Our analytics measures traffic in aggregate without using cookies and without tracking you across other websites.
Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. If we offer features that accept your input, such as ratings or a newsletter signup, we collect what you submit. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you for passwords or payment information.
Information stored on your device. Some features may store small items in your browser's local storage, for example to remember a selection you made or to prevent duplicate submissions. See our Cookie Policy.
Sensitive information. We do not seek sensitive personal information (such as health, precise location, or government identifiers) and ask you not to send it to us.
3. How we use information
- To operate, secure, maintain and improve the Site and its features.
- To understand usage, measure performance, and decide what to publish.
- To respond to your messages and requests, including copyright and privacy requests.
- To send newsletters or updates you have asked for (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our Terms of Use.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
- If and when we show advertising: to serve, measure and limit ads, using the consent controls described below.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar regions)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: our legitimate interests in running, securing and improving a publication (balanced against your rights); your consent where required (for example, for advertising cookies or marketing emails), which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation where applicable.
5. Advertising
We do not currently display advertising on the Site. If we begin to, we will update this policy first. Advertising partners may then use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to show and measure ads, including personalized ads. Where the law requires consent (including in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we will ask for it through a consent tool before any advertising technology loads, and you will be able to change your choice at any time. We will also honor the Global Privacy Control signal and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" option where required by US state law.
6. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that process it for us under contract, with legal and safety recipients when required, and in a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information for money, and at present we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Our current providers include:
- Vercel Inc. (web hosting, content delivery, analytics), which processes request data in the United States and other regions.
- An email delivery service (when we send newsletters or respond to messages).
- Social platforms, only if you click a share link or play an embedded post, in which case that platform's own policy applies.
We load fonts from our own servers rather than from third-party font services. Video embeds load from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain only after you press play.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Retention
We keep server and analytics data only as long as needed for the purposes above, and as set by our hosting and analytics provider's retention settings. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for legitimate record-keeping. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed.
9. Your choices and rights
Everyone. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser, unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, and contact us to ask about your information.
US state privacy rights. Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and others), you may have the right to know and access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a portable copy, and opt out of sale, sharing for targeted advertising, and profiling. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email contact@celticscrew.com with the subject "Privacy request." We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and you may also contact your state attorney general.
California. In the past 12 months we collected the categories of information described in Section 2 (identifiers such as IP address, internet activity, and information you provide). We collected it from you and your device, for the purposes in Section 3, and disclosed it to the service providers in Section 6 for business purposes. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law. California residents may also request information about disclosures for direct marketing under the Shine the Light law.
EEA, UK and Switzerland. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request where the law requires. Our analytics does not track you across sites, so a "Do Not Track" signal does not change how it works.
10. Children
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, on the Site) before they take effect.
